Indiana Design Center joins Design Centers International
The Indiana Design Center is proud to announce that it has joined Design Centers International (DCI) which is comprised of an esteemed list of design centers across North America. DCI was formed approximately 30 years ago to serve as an educational and networking resource for design center owners and management teams. Members work together to share in successful programming initiatives, best practices and the general state of the design industry.
Member representatives from the various design centers meet two times a year at host design center sites and share in roundtable discussions. “I look forward to connecting with my industry peers throughout the year and learning from their vast array of experiences while sharing in what we have learned over the nine years the Indiana Design Center has been operating,” says IDC executive director Andrea Kleymeyer.
The Indiana Design Center promotes the importance of hiring a professional designer and works to connect consumers and designers through its designer workshops series, website access to professional designer portfolios, Designer On Call program and more. To that end, DCI works closely with the Decorative Furnishings Association to improve understanding and perceived value of professional interior design. “There are many synergies between our efforts here at the Indiana Design Center and what other design centers are trying to accomplish,” says Kleymeyer. The IDC’s involvement with DCI is an exciting next step as it nears another decade serving as a one-stop shop to build, remodel, or redecorate commercial and residential spaces and buy a home.
