Kitchen Renovation Trends
As many start the year ready to embark on a home renovation, the kitchen remains the most important room to maintain a well-functioning home. Always hard-working spaces, kitchens have undergone a recent design makeover, into cozy, inviting areas with more advanced technology than ever. Mixed metal tones, color and texture combine with the latest appliances for a livable and magazine-worthy renovated kitchen. The Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting showroom at the Indiana Design Center is currently undergoing some kitchen renovations of its own, offering a look into what is popular and what will make your
kitchen a pleasure to cook and entertain in. In addition to display updates, it has plans to significantly expand its second floor showroom space later this year.
Color and texture have become a must in kitchen design, rejecting the cool and sleek styles that have been the recent standard. Moody colors and warm wood cabinetry combined with elegant hardware, fixtures and appliances create an inviting visual interest within a functional space. Says Natalie Gertiser, showroom manager at Ferguson, “In our new showroom kitchen, these varied textures will be counterbalanced with beautiful metal appliances, fixtures, hardware and a range hood, creating a rich and layered workspace.” Oversize pendants and unique chandeliers are still another great way to add drama to a utilitarian room.
In their new showroom kitchen Ferguson is installing a GE Monogram brass refrigerator and freezer, which creates a functional focal point on the bright metal that ties in with the brass range hood. The multifunctional range to be inserted below is a new addition from SKS, offering steam, convection and induction capabilities, as well as a sous vide option. “Customers still want the versatility and functionality of a well-appointed kitchen, but they want the appliances to look beautiful while performing well,” says Gertiser. Ferguson offers a large selection of kitchen appliances to fit the needs of any home cook.
